How it works
On your machine, by default.
Reading and read-aloud stay local
The neural voice runs inside your browser, so the text you listen to is never sent anywhere. Voice files download once from a public model host and are cached.
Saved words stay in your browser
Words you keep and your settings are stored locally. There's no account to make and nothing syncing to us.
Dictionary packs, then Wiktionary
Lookups use an offline dictionary pack the extension downloads, falling back to the public Wiktionary API for the single word you asked about.
Your assistant, your choice
Send a selection to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Groq and it goes straight to them, under their privacy policy. Lexxio Lens runs no AI servers of its own.
